What is going on in school? We are teachers. We are dads. And we often ask the exact same question. Join Chris and Rolland as they reflect on teacher culture and share their work/life experiences. No doubt this will simplify some things and definitely complicate others.
In this episode the guys talk about the feeling they get when something goes wrong at the last minute, the workings of Elementary vs Secondary school, and the idea of relationships creeps back into the conversation.
The guys kick things off with some talk about the week they just experienced. Chris' dilemma revolves around the concept of closing out a semester while Rolland is mentally prepared to wear a body camera. As the conversation develops they end up talking about challenging conversations (aka hard conversations, tough conversations, etc) and end things off with the "Good Ole Days".
The guys need an "on ramp" today so they chat a bit before they hit the broadcast button. Once they get into it, they chat about sick days/personal obligation days and morning surprises and how to deal with them. Are you about contingency or redundancy?
The guys kick things off with almost no downtime prior to hitting "broadcast". A little bit of talk using snowballs as an analogy connected to teaching and life. We also stumbled on the topic of student teachers and whether we could take one on.....and we asked each other the big question - are you ready for Monday?
The guys kick things off by talking about the new year and what it means to them. They ended up moving into whether teacher will be the last job they have in their career.
